Call me crazy, but when I am given a gift, I treasure it more before I unwrap it.
You see, before I unwrap it, I am reveling in the thoughts behind the gift:
-the fact that the giver even thought to give me a gift
-the time it took to select a gift and wrap it
-the beauty of the packaging (seriously, how do people make ribbon & tape look so beautiful?!)
At this point, it really doesn’t matter what is in the gift; all these thoughts that warm my heart are gift enough.
Do you know that you have a wrapped gift that could still be waiting for you to receive it?
There was so much thought put into this gift.
The Giver was thinking of YOU when He sent it.
The packaging is unique, which makes it so beautiful, for this gift is wrapped in cloths.
And it’s there, still waiting to be received by so many.
You’ll know if you’ve received this gift, or if others have received it, because it is truly the gift that keeps on giving. In fact, it’s like “The Fruit of the Month Club”. This gift will have fruit for you all the time…spiritual fruit, that is. It will be these fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
If you haven’t already, accept this gift. It will become your most favorite gift, one that will be treasured for eternity.
“today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:11-12
There has been a savior born for YOU. Now, THAT’S an amazing gift to unwrap!
